#172789 - LM2574-5 AC voltage protection |
Hi all,
I am considering using an LM2574-5 for a board that will be powered by 24VDC supply voltage. In the application where this board will be used, it receives its 24VDC power through a 13 conductor collector ring/slip ring where both 120VAC and 480VAC voltages exist. If something goes horribly wrong in the collector ring, the switcher could potentially be exposed to these AC voltages. Does the LM2574-5 provide any sort of AC voltage protection? I have read the datasheet and can't find anything that says it does or does not. If it is exposed to AC voltage, what are the odds of those voltages making it through the switcher and onto the board? How can one protect the board and uC in this situation? Your advice is greatly appreciated. Brian |
