I have seen the '245 used in cases (yes multiple) where it was totally unnecessary by people that did not have the "wired OR" concept, '51 buses works on, clear in their head.
Not saying it never is relevant to use a '245 with a regular '51, just seen the above. Oddly enough some of the most modern '51 derivatives, the SILabs micros have brought the '245, albeit often the 4245 back in use because their chips do not have the "brief strong pullup" of the ports. Erik |
