My 8051 Minimal System: (For Starting out)

Uses an Eprom & nvram to download & run programs, Startup program can be in the Eprom or ram, Switchable.I/O is 8 LEDs on P1 and Serial Port.
As you can See I have only built this circuit on a breadboard so far.

Phillips P89C51RD2:

This chip has 64KB of Flash Memory and 768 bytes ram.Mine is a surface mount chip on a board with sockets for the io pins and crystal.
